https://inject.iainsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/INJECT/article/view/7866

This article aims to answer how to communicate Islam through new media. Methodologically, this study is a ethnographic study that focuses on the Quraish Shihab Podcast channel. This study shows several findings; first, Islam must be communicated in a rational (logical) language. Second, Islamic communication must be considering the condition of the people being preached. Third, Islamic communication provides an alternative by providing various options and not forcing the message recipient. Fourth, communication via new media is substantive by basing each message on a deep understanding of the themes discussed. Fifth, Islamic communication must be humanistic, by prioritizing Islamic universal messages. These findings imply that the Islamic communication practices in the public space of new media must be able to create a peaceful space, encourage progress, strengthen culture and civilization, and facilitate good relations with others.
Adeni AdeniMudhofi Mudhofi

https://inject.iainsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/INJECT/article/view/7872

The Indonesian people are currently in a situation of rising oil prices. Either in the form of cooking oil or pertamax. This condition makes the public conversation on Twitter very crowded. Especially when news emerged regarding Luhut Binsar Panjaitan signaling that the price of pertalite and 3 kg LPG would also increase gradually. This led to trending topics with the hashtags #OpungBiangKerok and #PecatBrutusLuhut. The theory used in this research is the theory of representation and agenda setting which is carried out in the context of social media. The purpose of this study is to determine the strength of the network on Twitter in shaping public opinion which aims to attack Luhut's image. This study uses a qualitative method. The analytical technique chosen in this study is the analysis of social media networks. The results of this study see that the hashtags #OpungBiangKerok and #PecatBrutusLuhut were produced in 2 different moments. The hashtag #OpungBiangKerok was built when Luhut signaled a price increase. Meanwhile, the hashtag #PecatBrutusLuhut emerged after the student demonstration on April 11, 2022. However, the opinion that was built through the hashtag #PecatBrutusLuhut focused more on Jokowi's 3-term rejection. Through these two hashtags, netizens on Twitter are trying to build a representation of Luhut's image as a leader who is cruel to the people. The community movement is not only strong when in the field, but there is also a strong effort on social media to produce a public opinion. This movement at the same time strengthens their action in the field.
Khairul Syafuddin

https://inject.iainsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/INJECT/article/view/7852

This study aims to explain the effect of the intensity of reading news at metrotvnews.com on the attitude of the reader, to clarify the attitude of the reader toward reader perception of the news of Tolikara, Papua 17 Juli 2015. One of the factors that influence the credibility of the media is the intensity of journalists in reporting news. The effect of uncertainty of the news will make ambiguity in public perception. Data were obtained from 100 populations, using the nonprobability sampling technique model of purposive sampling. The results showed that the intensity of reading news on Metrotvnews.com had an effect of 0.327 or 32.7% on reader attitudes. The reader's perspective affects the reader's perception of the Tolikara news frame by 0.546 or 54.6%. Readers' attitudes modulate the impact of news intensity on readers' perceptions by 0.375, or 37.5%. This study concludes that cyber media still have an impact on agenda setting against the reader. Proved there is a significant relationship between the intensity of reading news and reader attitude to reader perception, it can be said that the longer individuals are exposed to an issue, so people will be affected by the agenda setting. Therefore the media in covering the news must be impartial (covering both sides) and the principle of neutrality in the preparation of news.
Rizki Hidayat
